I have two blogs. This one, and ArmageddonOnToast.com, which is my “author blog” (required by my publisher).

In this blog, I post things that are pertinent to the story Mission Veritas: things about characters, back story, and so on. Sometimes I’ll borrow posts from my other blog that are related, such as about space travel.

Sign up for the “Free Stuff” and you’ll get links whenever I post something new and when I upload illustrations and wallpapers related to the story.

I hope you have opportunity to enjoy both. I invite your comments on the blog topics and critique of the story, good or bad.

Alchemist of Words

Alchemist of Words

As an author I meet many people who either are authors or who say they want to be.  When I read fellow Science Fiction author, Massimo Marino’s post about the craft of writing, I asked his permission to share it with you here.   How many of you have...
Dude, You Can’t Smoke THAT Here!

Dude, You Can’t Smoke THAT Here!

I’m a cigar smoker.  At times in my life, I’ve also smoked cigarettes.  I remember the olden days when smokers lit up in restaurants, theater lobbies, the office, the computer lab, and even airplanes!  Now you can’t light up a cigarette – much...

Why Science Fiction Matters

I wrote Mission Veritas to appeal to a young audience currently absorbed in video games rather than world affairs.  I wanted to explore a couple of questions such as; What if appeasement continued?  What if the next generation tuned out rather than tuning in?   What...

Research Scientists Want to Kill Each Other

Want to do some traveling this year? Whether you jump on a plane, boats, train, or car, or never leave your office, you’re traveling quite a distance. The average number of miles any given person travels is 584,040,000 per year. That’s right! Even if...

Over 8 Trillion Pounds of Water for So. Cal.?

The weekend of July 19, 2015 saw record breaking rainfall in Southern California. So much rainfall that portions of Interstate 10 washed away with no estimate of when it will be re-opened. Remnants of Hurricane Delores hit the California coast and dumped billions of...

How do Planes Fly so High?

If Darth Vader hadn’t lost his right hand, he could stick it out the window just like we did as kids did while our parents drove. While you probably didn’t realize it, you were tactilly experimenting with the same things that allow Luke and Darth to dog fight...

High Heels and Satire; Stories of the Wyrd

As an author, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting other creative people – many who are also authors.  From time to time, I like to introduce you to one of them as well.  My guest today is Charley Daveler, a speculative fiction writer whose short stories can...
God Bless the USA

God Bless the USA

Here we are on the day before the 4th of July.  My deployed Marine son is somewhere in the Indian Ocean and I’m thinking about all the things tomorrow means to me.  I hope you will pause for a few moments between the barbeques and fireworks to reflect on what it...
